The Werehuahuas of East L.A.

Fueled by racism in the border region, media outlets in the United States have coined the term “werehuahua” – a combination of the mythical “werewolf” and the breed of dog “Chihuahua" – to describe the descendents of the ancient god Huehuecóyotl.  Huehuecóyotl, god of dance, music, and sex, was neither chupacabra nor werehuahua, but a noble god with the body of a man and the head of a coyote.  More to come on Deportation Proceedings of an East L.A. Werehuahua.
